HIGH SCHOOL VOLUNTEER APPLICATION

The Parks and Rec basketball program uses high school students -- in addition to parent volunteers -- as coaches as well as occasionally for referees.

Coaches for Grades 3-8 will oversee one practice and one game per week. Practices could be any night Tuesday through Friday (practice schedule by grade is listed below). Games are Saturdays for all divisions except Grade 3 boys, who play on Sundays. Coaching is a volunteer position.

Refereeing is for the Grade 3 boys division, on Sundays between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. There is compensation for refereeing.

The Grade 3-8 leagues start practice in mid-November and games the first weekend of December, and the season ends just before February vacation.

If you are interested in serving as a coach and/or referee this season, fill out the application on this page. Note that the number of openings varies from year to year depending on player registration and parent volunteers, so not everyone is guaranteed a position.
