The HBA will sponsor a group trip to a Celtics game this season. The game is Friday, Nov. 27 -- the day after Thanksgiving -- against the Washington Wizards. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m.
As part of the deal with the Celtics, we will be allowed to enter the arena 2 hours early (before it’s open to the general public) and have a short scrimmage on the parquet floor at that time. At our coaches meeting on Oct. 15, we selected at random players from each Grade 6-8 HBA team to participate in this scrimmage. The girls will play for 3 minutes, then the boys will play for 3 minutes. If a winner cannot play, we have runners-up that will then be offered a spot.
Everyone who attends will be invited to sit courtside to watch our scrimmage and to watch the Celtics warm up before their game. Then we will be escorted up to our seats in the upper sections. We will have some seats in the promenade area and others in the stands.
The cost of each ticket is $40 (a slight discount from the regular price, and there are no additional processing charges). If you are interested in attending, make out a check to the HBA for the total amount ($40 times the number of tickets) and mail it along with your name, email address and phone number to P.O. Box 336, Hopkinton, MA 01748.
We are guaranteed at least 125 tickets. Once we reach that mark, additional requests will be filled only if tickets are available.
