FOR REC SCHEDULES/HEALTH FORMS
UPDATE, JAN. 18: All HBA and rec clinics through Wednesday, Jan. 20, are canceled. Clinics will resume on Thursday, Jan. 21.
UPDATE, JAN. 14: All HBA and rec clinics from Thursday, Jan. 14, through Sunday, Jan. 17, have been canceled while the Health Department conducts contact tracing on a number of COVID-19 cases that have arisen in the schools. Clinics will resume on Monday, Jan. 18. The canceled clinics will not be made up.
Below are instructions for both the HBA and rec basketball winter clinics for 2020-21.
You will enter Center School to the LEFT of the building and drive around. Drop off your child at the BACK entrance to the gym — directly in the back of the school, across from the playground. When picking up, drive all the way around to the front entrance to the gym and park in the lot to wait for your child to come out. PARENTS MAY NOT ENTER THE GYM AT ANY TIME. Only CORI-approved coaches and players may come inside. Please drop off and pick up your child on time, as there is a limit on how many people can be in the gym at any time. No one should be dropped off more than 10 minutes early, and you should already be in the parking lot when the clinic ends.
Before every practice — even if your child is not attending — you must fill out a short form declaring that your child is not exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 and has not had any recent close contacts with a COVID-positive individual. This form must be filled out prior to EVERY practice, within 12 hours of the start of the practice. If your child is not attending a practice for another reason, you will indicate that on the form. The form is very short — it will take less than 1 minute to complete. This form is required to before every practice. Any child whose form has not been submitted will not be allowed to join the practice.
The link to your child's group’s health form can be found with the schedules (click on the HBA or rec logo to the right). Each form is specific to a grade/clinic, so make sure you fill out the correct one.
If your child is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or has had a close contact, email firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible so we can determine the appropriate course of action.
All players are required to wear a face covering during the entire practice. Chairs have been placed 6 feet apart around the sides of the gym, so when they sit down to get a drink they will be socially distanced. We also will have hand sanitizer in the gym.
All players should bring a full water bottle with their name on it (the water fountain is shut off), and a basketball, also with their name on it. We will have basketballs for anyone who needs one. When your child returns home, you should gently wipe their basketball with a disinfecting wipe and make sure your child washes their hands and face thoroughly.
All players should wear a reversible green/white jersey (HBA/rec jersey from last year). If they do not have one, they should wear a light shirt (white/gray). Every participant will receive an HBA T-shirt, but those won’t be in until January.
